Women have more problems with a hormone imbalance than men because of the way their bodies are made. A woman’s normal cycle is 28 days. Estrogen is produced in the first part of the cycle, followed by ovulation and then in the last part of the cycle, progesterone is produced to prepare the body in the event that she conceives.

If conception does not take place, the body recognizes that fact, and the woman has a normal monthly period. This cycle balances the hormones every month. So what happens if the woman does not ovulate? This creates an imbalance in the hormones because progesterone is not produced, and the hormone, estrogen, increases.

Something similar happens as a woman ages. Her body produces less progesterone and estrogen levels begin to rise. This type of problem may begin as soon as a girl starts her period, after a woman has her first child, after a tubal ligation or after a woman reaches a certain age. Once these hormones cause the problem, the resulting problems become a domino effect.

The brain is the first thing that is affected by an imbalance of these two hormones. It swells, and women will notice tenderness in their breasts, their hands swell, they have mood swings or they may have headaches. The thyroid can, also, be affected by too much estrogen. The thyroid causes the adrenal glands to stress out, and that causes adrenal fatigue. Once the adrenal glands are exhausted, the woman may experience such symptoms as depression, fatigue, weight gain, sleep problems and the inability to think clearly along with many other health problems.

A hormone imbalance affects the whole immune system and the woman’s fitness level goes down. She may feel like she can barely function. No one else has any desire to be anywhere near her because of the severe mood swings that she is unable to control.

Very few women ever go to their doctor for a checkup when they experience problems such as these. The majority of them think it is just something women go through, or they think they are just exhausted from trying to care for their family responsibilities and work at the same time. As a result, very few of them ever find relief.

Taking natural progesterone is the only way a woman can balance out her hormones when her estrogen is too high. If she does not do this, her fitness level drops even more. She will begin to feel better and have more energy once the amount of progesterone in the body is at the same level as that of estrogen. Her family will consider her to be a different person.

It is normal when a woman does not notice an immediate change after she starts using a natural progesterone cream. The change usually comes slowly over a three to four month period of time. She will know when the cream is doing its job, because her symptoms will begin to disappear, and she will begin to feel good again. She won’t have a problem thinking anymore, she will have a new outlook on life, people will enjoy being around her and she will want to do things again.

Whenever a woman starts having these symptoms she should go for a doctor visit. If for some reason she does not want to do that, she can begin using a natural progesterone cream. If she doesn’t begin to see a change in how she feels after a few months, she should definitely see her doctor, because the problem may be caused by something more serious.
